Smart-Text is the brand name for our mobile communication
software. It is a PC application which works exactly
like your email package, but controls SMS and other
mobile services. It also allows you to send personalised
bulk SMS, create dynamic WAP messages and control sophisticated
text campaigns.
Smart-Text also includes a module which allows businesses
to locate a mobile workforce via their mobile phones
- you can also view real-time activity information and
proactively manage your staff. |

The primary uuse for Smart-Text is in the business setting,
allowing businesses to communicate cheaply and effectively
with a mobile workforce, clients and prospective clients. |

Smart-Text is owned and operated by CMM Technology. We
are based in Sheffield, UK and send over 15 million SMS

How does Smart-Text work?
Smart-Text is a full feature, stand alone SMS application,
authored by our in-house software development team. Although
it utilises the internet to send and receive SMS, the
application is not web based, and can be used offline
if required. |

Can I receive SMS Messages
through Smart-Text?
Yes. You are able to both send and receive SMS through
Smart-Text. If you are a bulk user (sending thousands
of SMS each week) Smart-Text comes complete with your
own virtual mobile number, ensuring SMS are delivered
to your Smart-Text. |

Simply contact one of our resellers. They will be able
to arrange a demonstration or even a trial version. You

To start using Smart-Text you need to sign our licence
agreement. Your reseller will organise this, plus answer
any questions you may have. Payment is via traditional

Enabled?
Yes. Smart-Text can create WAP pages on the fly and allow

Yes, you can direct Smart-Text to control and automated
information service and response service. You simply publicise
your virtual number, which is added to your account when
it is activated. |

indecent content or messages our systems detect as being

Yes, you need to either download
or install the Smart-Text software from CD to use the

What type of PC do I need?
A standard PC running Windows 98 or better. The application
software needs 10mb of free disk space. |

Is the data I provide stored
securely?
Yes. We adopt rigorous processes to ensure your personal
data and SMS content is protected. The entire internal
site adopts SSL security and we limit access to the
control panel to the 'Master' User only. |

Can I send texts without being
on the internet?
Yes, but rather like your email package, you
must Send and Receive whilst connected to the internet
in order to literally send the SMS you compose. If you
decide to time your SMS for the future you DO NOT have
to be connected to the internet at the expected time of
delivery. |

Do you gurantee delivery?
We have sophisticated monitoring software which
ensures that your SMS is delivered in the most robust
fashion possible, but we lose control of your SMS once
it is released to the network (Vodafone, O2, Orange and
T Mobile). We cannot gurantee a delay will not be incurred
by the network, but we constantly monitor the delivery
status of these networks and will store messages if there
are major problems with SMS distribution. |

Not at present, but we expect this to be available
by the close of 2004. |

Can I locate members of staff?
Yes, Smart-Text enables you to locate your staff
at any time as long as they have agreed to be tracked.
You may also pre-configure tracks for certain times during
the working day and have them done automatically. |

How does the software update?
Smart-Text updates once a quarter through a web
update facility. Prior to the update you will receive
an email with details of all the added features and product
enhancements. This update is totally free. When you start
your software you are asked whether you wish to update
and the update itself takes no more than one to three
minutes, depending on your internet connection. |

How do I control multiple
users in my business?
Smart-text allows very easy addition and deletion

Can the software work
on a network? |
| Yes. Smart-Text also comes complete with self configurable
Proxy Settings if your network is particular about the
way in which you access the internet. |
